Our History
A brief insight into our foundations
Joa and Rock was registered in 2009 in Nigeria and have been creating value for our clients by providing them easy solutions to complex tasks. In 2009 we started as a sourcing company, fulfilling purchase orders and in 2015 as a result of increased cross-border trade with China, we decided to travel all the way to the middle kingdom and unravel the mystery of the “factory of the world”! Little did we know, this journey would last 5 years, and open a world of opportunities for us and our clients. Since 2016, we have expanded our services to include factories setup, investments consulting, joint ventures and franchising partnerships facilitation, and most recently heavy-duty equipment purchase and resale.

We have been actively sourcing from factories and wholesalers, managing supply chains for brands and carrying out quality assessments and Factory inspections, so much so that we have earned numerous repeat business from our clients. HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT PURCHASE
Since 2019 our equipment purchase department has been supporting various Nigerian companies to procure heavy duty equipment used in construction or field work. Although this service has been newly added to our portfolio and we believe that in the future equipment purchase, sales, servicing and spare parts would be a major part of the Joa & Rock brand. With a housing deficit and infrastructural deficiency in Nigeria, we are poised to offer the construction industry support through value added services and equipment acquisition plans which we have begun to introduce to our clients
Ethical Lithium mining
In 2022 Joa and Rock diversified to Lithium exploration and ethical mining in Nigeria, as the demand for clean energy continues to rise and electrical vehicles go mainstream, Lithium has become one of the most sorts after critical minerals. Although over the years Nigeria’s mining sector has not received the level of investment and attention it deserves. We at Joa and Rock are poised to help advance the sector by bringing modern sustainable ways of mining and curbing the adverse impact of artisanal mining, encouraging women in mining and promoting sustainable mining and mining education into the sector. We currently work with Joint Venture partners in North America, Australia and China.

Jideofor Ahaneku from Nigeria is a skilled Administrator in Cross border Trade and Development Consulting. Using his experience from doing business with China he manages supply – chain for small Nigerian business owners and also helps them improve sales.He speaks, reads and writes Chinese which has helped him understand the culture and build a wide array of contacts from factory workers, factory bosses to key decision makers.

A meticulous professional programmer whose experience in developing IT solutions cuts across board from the financial sector to full-stack developer skills. Vivian Aziengbe holds an MSc in Mass Communication. She is an expert in administration with experience spanning two decades. Notably her work in the public sector managing high-level government officials’ office administration and personal schedules has exposed her to fast paced work environments. She speaks English, Hausa and Edo languages and has a basic understanding of Yoruba, Ibo and French. She is very proficient with a range of project management systems, Microsoft office suite and other multimedia applications
Aziengbe Vivian
Ikechukwu Samson Oken is a passionate project manager and a mining expert who has over 20 years’ work experience, he has served extensively on project management in the solid minerals sector in both public and private sector projects across Nigeria. Some of Ike’s projects have been with the CIDJAP – USAID on the Lead/Zinc Ore Smelting Plants at Ameka in Ebonyi State, the Iron Ore mining project in Gidan-Jaja, Zamfara State and sand processing and export projects in Jos, Plateau State. Ike is a HND holder in Business Administration & Management and also holds a Trade-Test Certificate in Foundry Engineering and General Metal Works from Government Technical College, Enugu. Ike enjoys swimming, soccer and playing Chess. He is fluent in English, Hausa and Igbo languages. When IK is not working or playing sports he likes relax with his wife and kids.
